A reminder that there are all kinds of scams designed to part you from your money. Some of them are hard to detect whether a scam or a legitimate threat.
Most of you are aware that we take website security very seriously, which is why we install security applications to every website we host at no additional charge to our hosting clients. You also know that we encourage enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) requiring logging in with your username and password and an additional security code sent to you via email, text message or other means. And we set Administrator password to require a “STRONG” level of password security when changing passwords.
Recently we have received some messages from concerned website owners that their websites have been hacked based on an email they received or from a form response on their website. These messages look like the following or similar type message:
These are fake messages designed to scare site owners into sending money which likely can never be recovered. You can just delete these messages.

We want you to know that no web application is 100% secure and hacked websites do happen from time to time. The vast majority of these hacks come from outdated WordPress application, Theme or Plugins, which is why we offer our Maintenance Service Plan (MSP) to check your site daily for updates and apply updates as soon as new ones are released. All MSP sites are backed up nightly and the back-ups are retained for 30 days. Restores are provided at no additional charge. This plan also provides additional security and monthly reporting on site uptime and other valuable insights for your site. The most important benefit, however, may be that we will restore any hacked site to its pre-hacked state at no additional charge to MSP clients. Cleaning and restoring a site is a time-consuming and costly venture.
