If your mailbox reaches 75% capacity, we recommend cleaning up your email to avoid send/receive interruptions.

Managing Your Email Storage

Each email account has an individual storage limit. When your mailbox reaches 75% of its storage capacity, you may begin experiencing issues sending or receiving email. To prevent interruptions, it’s a good idea to periodically check your mailbox size and remove unnecessary messages.

How to Check Your Mailbox Size

You can check your mailbox usage through webmail.

  1. 1
Open your browser and go to: safesecurewebmail.com
  2. 2
Log in using your full email address and password.
  3. 3
Once logged in, look for your mailbox usage indicator — typically shown near the bottom of the interface or in account settings.
  4. 4
The display will show how much storage you are using and how close you are to your limit.

If your mailbox is 75% full or higher, we recommend cleaning up old email to prevent delivery issues.

How to Free Up Email Storage Space

If your mailbox is approaching its limit, you can free up space by removing large or unnecessary messages.

Step 1

Delete Large Emails

In webmail, sort your inbox by Size or search for messages with attachments. Delete emails containing large attachments you no longer need — especially:

  • Photos
  • Video Attachments
  • Large PDFs
  • Zip Files
  • Old forwarded documents

Step 2

Empty Your Deleted Items Folder

Deleting messages moves them to the Deleted Items or Trash folder, which still counts toward your storage limit.

Open the Deleted Items / Trash folder.

  • Select Empty Folder or delete the messages permanently.

Step 3

Clean Up Sent Mail

Many users forget that the Sent folder stores copies of everything they send.

  • Open the Sent Items folder.
  • Delete large messages with attachments you no longer need.

Step 4

Remove Large Attachments

If you need to keep an email but not the attachment:

  • Download the attachment to your computer.
  • Delete the original message from your mailbox.

Best Practices to Avoid Mailbox Limits

To keep your mailbox running smoothly:

  • Periodically delete old messages
  • Remove large attachments after downloading them
  • Empty the Deleted Items folder regularly
  • Archive important messages to your computer

Need More Storage?

If you frequently reach your mailbox storage limit, additional space may be available. Please contact your Email Administrator to request an increase in your individual mailbox storage allocation. Your administrator can review your account and determine the best option for expanding your mailbox capacity.

Suggestion for your support page

Please do not forget to delete items in the Deleted Items folder. Deleting items moves email to this folder but does not remove them from the server. Deleting the Deleted Items folder will remove them and free up your storage space.
